Architect’s view
The project is a fantastic example of how an ordinary building can be saved from wasteful demolition and reused and refurbished by transforming it with thoughtful design. It is very rewarding to see how a once-introverted building, sitting quietly and unremarkably within the diverse architectural context, now opens up to its surroundings and positively contributes to enhancing the neighbourhood.
The transformed building is a great improvement on the local conservation area and complements well its Grade-II listed Modernist neighbour.
